Botts Title Company

This is a collective action pending in the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, seeking recovery of overtime for hours worked over 40 by title examiners and escrow officers.

In this lawsuit, the Buenker Law Firm represents title examiners and escrow officers who work more than 40 hours per week but are not paid overtime.  Botts Title Company and its owner Val Walters paid their employees a salary.  But the law does not recognize title examiners and escrow officers as exempt from overtime – whether they are paid a salary or not.  This company refuses to pay overtime and this lawsuit seeks damages related to that illegal pay policy.
